Incoming Staff
The “Alessandro Scarlatti” Conservatoire welcomes foreign teachers and administrative staff wanting to carry out a shortteaching or training period.. Staff interested may apply according to the procedures and timings required by their homeinstitution. Prior to departure the teaching (or training) programme must be formally recorded on a Staff TeachingMobility Agreement which will be signed by both home and host Erasmus co-ordinators and the applicant.Mobility grants for Italy amount to 128,00 Euro per day for the first 14 days and 90,00 Euro from the 15th day onwardsfor subsistence, while the travel grants maximums are set according to the distance travelled at the following rates:

Academic year calendar
- Winter semester: November-February
- Winter exam session: end of February
- Spring semester: March-June
- Summer exam session: June-July
- Christmas Holidays: from December 23rd to January 6th
General Info
Teaching language is Italian or alternatively English.
Foreign teachers who are citizens of European Union members states require no special permits to temporarily workin Italy. The same is true for teachers from states such as Liechtenstein, the Principality of Monaco, and Switzerland.
Visiting teachers should personally take care of their lodging in Palermo.
It has always been the policy of the Italian government to guarantee free health care coverage for everyoneregardless of any individual’s financial capabilities or immigration status.Such assistance is regulated by international conventions depending upon whether or not the student in questioncomes from a European Union member state.
